Job summary

Bridgeport Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health, is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients to diagnostic departments and from Admitting to patient units, assist nursing staff, and transport lab specimens and medical records. The role includes handling oxygen delivery and supporting OR schedules within the hospital setting.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, roughly one year of related experience, and strong English communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and speak English.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Successful completion of hospital orientation.

Responsibilities

• 1. PATIENT TRANSPORT: Ensure proper and safe patient transportation to all areas.
• 2. SAFETY: Enforces department safety policies and procedures to assure patients, staff and visitor safety.
• 3. ADDITIONAL TASKS: Completes oxygen rounds as assigned following the oxygen rounds sheets.
