Job summary

Yale NewHaven Healthʼs Bridgeport Hospital is seeking a patient transporter to move patients to diagnostic areas and between units. You will support nursing staff with transfers and deliver essential items like lab specimens and records, ensuring safety and efficiency in patient flow.

Required is the ability to read and speak English, plus good interpersonal and communication skills. Prior hospital orientation completion is preferred, with a focus on patient-centered care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year related experience preferred.
• Must be able to read and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to diagnostic departments and between Admitting and patient units.
• Assist nursing staff in transferring patients to and from transport vehicles.
• Deliver oxygen tanks and Operating Room schedules to patient units.
• Transport lab specimens, medical records and flowers.
• Complete oxygen rounds as assigned.
