Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD, is seeking a dedicated transporter to move patients, specimens, equipment, and supplies across the medical center. You will handle stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, and other transport tools, ensuring patient safety and dignity at all times.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work well within a team under time pressures. A high school diploma or GED is required, with CPR certification within 30 days of start date.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience is required.
• Ability to transport patients including morgue patients and to work under time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients, specimens, equipment and supplies throughout the Medical Center using stretchers, wheelchairs, beds and other transport equipment.
• Assists in lifting or placing patients onto/off transport; secures patient and checks identification; maintains patient dignity and privacy.
• Maintains cleanliness of stretchers and transport equipment; transports equipment, specimens, and supplies to designated areas.
