Qualifications

• Prior patient experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Properly and safely transports patients, secures IVs, drainage tubes, etc., and secures patient.
• Uses wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to carry out duties.
• Demonstrates competency in transporting all age groups.
• Ensures safe, timely transport of patients using proper equipment.
• Communicates with nursing staff, clinicians, technicians or reception/dispatch.
• Ensures patient comfort and privacy; maintains professional conversations.
• Alerts nursing staff to distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintains and reports equipment repairs.
• Complies with federal, state and JCAHO standards.
• Adheres to HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
