Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio seeks a Patient Transporter to move patients safely and efficiently within the hospital, following schedules and communicating changes promptly. The role supports patient care by transferring patients, assisting with supplies, and maintaining accurate transport logs. A high standard of professionalism with patients and staff is expected.

No prior experience is required; on-the-job training is provided. Education: high school diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to write and understand written and oral communications.
• Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner.
• Basic math skills for daily transportation logs and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Transfers patients between areas by wheelchair, bed, or stretcher.
• Assists in transporting supplies during traumas and emergencies.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety while transporting.
• Maintain transportation logs with departure/arrival times and patient/equipment details.
• Collaborate with staff to meet patient and department needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
