Responsibilities include maintaining transport logs, ensuring patient comfort, sanitizing equipment, and supporting emergency response as needed. This is a collective bargaining unit position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required upon hire or during orientation.
• Healthcare/Transport experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients and items to and from hospital locations using appropriate resources to ensure safe transport.
• Ensures patient comfort and privacy during transport.
• Stays with the patient at all times.
• Gives hand-off communication to the receiving nurse.
• Verifies patient information using two forms of verification.
• Notifies departments within five minutes of delays for scheduled procedures.
• Maintains daily transportation logs with times, patient name, and equipment transported.
• May provide life-saving care during emergencies.
• Cleans and disinfects transport equipment and wheelchairs between transports.
