Responsibilities

• Properly and safely transports patients, secures IVs and drainage tubes, and ensures patient security.
• Uses wheelchairs and rolling stock to perform duties."
• Demonstrates competency in transporting patients across age groups.
• Ensures safe, timely, and accurate transport using proper equipment and communicates with nursing staff, clinicians, technicians or reception/dispatch.
• Maintains patient comfort by being attentive, offering blankets, checking modesty, and avoiding conversations about pain.
• Alerts nursing staff to signs of distress or equipment malfunction and maintains equipment; reports repairs.
• Follows regulatory standards including federal, state, and JCAHO; adheres to HIPAA policies.
