Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Patient Transporter 2 to safely move patients and visitors within the facility, delivering compassionate service and first impressions that set the tone for patient experience.

This full-time on-site role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and at least two years of relevant experience; you will work with clinical teams, observe safety protocols, and help ensure timely admissions, discharges, and smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients and/or visitors between departments and units.
• Assists with admissions and discharge transportation.
• Identifies patient and confirms identity before movement.
• Uses proper lifting techniques and body mechanics when transporting patients.
• Monitors oxygen and IV apparatus and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Keeps hallways clear and stores equipment properly to avoid damage.
• Responds promptly to requests and communicates with physicians, staff and patients.
