Job summary

St. Mary’s Medical Center is seeking a Casual Transporter to transport patients safely throughout the Medical Center under the direction of the Manager, Patient Transport or designee.

The Transporter will assist patients, maintain safety, and follow nursing staff instructions. A high school diploma is preferred, nurse aide experience is a plus, and BLS certification must be maintained.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of a nurse aide program preferred.
• Nurse aide experience preferred but not required.
• Verbal ability to communicate with patients and understand instructions from nursing staff.
• Ability to lift patients and operate transport equipment with good body mechanics.
• Maintain BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients throughout the Medical Center.
• Assist patients and families as directed by nursing staff.
• Maintain patient safety and follow hospital procedures during transport.
