Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provides timely transport of patients, specimens and equipment across the hospital per standards.
• Verifies patient IDs and assesses needs before lifts or ambulation to prevent injuries.
• Transfers patients using beds, stretchers, wheelchairs and chairs with proper technique.
• Transports charts, specimens and supplies; records trip info in the system.
• Maintains equipment cleanliness and reports malfunctions; supports department operations.
• Works as part of a team to deliver quality service and patient-centered care.
• Responds to emergencies and notifies appropriate personnel; assists in safety procedures.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA and related policies.
