Hartford HealthCare's St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport is seeking a dedicated Transporter to move patients, equipment and items safely and efficiently. You will support physicians, nurses and staff by ensuring timely transports and proper patient handling.

Responsibilities include responding with urgency to transport requests, verifying patient identity, maintaining confidentiality, and following department protocols. High attention to safety, compassion and teamwork is essential.

• Follows hospital specific protocols (isolation and radiation precautions).
• Adheres to policies, procedures and standards from regulatory agencies.
• Ability to maintain patient/customer focus fostering a teamwork environment.
• Ability to transport patients with specific needs (oxygen, IVs, etc.).
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 3+ months related experience preferred.

Aufgaben

• Responds to transport requests with a sense of urgency.
• Ensures oxygen tanks have sufficient oxygen for the transport.
• Maintains patient comfort and modesty during transport.
• Follows department protocols and uses dispatch system.
• Documents transport with ticket-to-ride before leaving the unit.
• Transports patients between departments and care areas using wheelchairs, stretchers or beds.
• Notifies staff upon arrival and verifies patient identification and chart accuracy.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information during transport.
• Returns equipment to proper locations and reports repairs as needed.
• Disinfects and cleans transport equipment after each use.
