San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living is seeking a Patient Sitter to work with nursing and interdisciplinary teams, providing observation, companionship, and a calming presence for residents needing extra support.

You will help prevent falls, assist with meal setup, and maintain a safe environment while adhering to safety protocols and contributing to a compassionate, inclusive culture.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of long-term care or healthcare experience preferred.
• Kind, calm, and empathetic demeanor.
• Ability to build rapport with residents.
• Cultural sensitivity to Jewish traditions and diverse populations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bilingual abilities preferred (e.g., English/Spanish, Cantonese, or Russian).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor resident behavior and symptoms; communicate concerns to nursing and care teams.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents in distress, disoriented, or isolated.
• Maintain constant observation of residents at risk to prevent falls and injuries.
• Support residents exhibiting wandering, aggression, or inappropriate social interactions.
• Escort residents to appointments or activities, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Assist with meal setup by cutting food or offering finger foods, without feeding residents.
• Set up supplies for personal care routines without performing hands-on care.
• Maintain a clean and calming environment; change bed linens when unoccupied.
• Establish therapeutic relationships with residents while maintaining boundaries.
• Monitor multiple residents as assigned and remain vigilant.
• Attend required trainings and follow safety and infection protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
