Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Patient Safety Companion for Springfield Regional Medical Center to assist with patient care and safety under RN supervision. You will support basic daily needs, maintain a safe environment, and communicate changes to the nursing team.

Ideally you bring recent healthcare experience, strong communication, and a collaborative approach to care. BLS is preferred and training is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a healthcare environment.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred at hire (must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care).
• Ability to clearly communicate with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to the patient including personal care, hygiene, toileting, and mobility.
• Creates and maintains a safe environment for patients.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Participates in hand-off of pertinent information at arrival and departure.
