Job summary

The Palmettos of Charleston is seeking a Cook/Server to join our dietary team. You will help prepare and serve patient meals, ensuring dietary accuracy and portioning, while supporting a compassionate geriatric population.

This role requires attention to sanitation, reliable attendance, and strong customer service. Training on therapeutic diets is provided, and you will assist the cook and dining staff to ensure timely meal service.

Qualifications

• Interest in foodservice and healthcare patients.
• Ability to learn therapeutic and modified diets.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and daily use.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Punctual and reliable for scheduled shifts.
• Food Handlers Certificate or Sanitation Course may be required.

Responsibilities

• Scrape, wash, and sanitize dishes, flatware, pots and pans.
• Transport and store dishes and utensils, ensuring enough clean supply.
• Clean the dish machine and dish room; maintain a clutter-free work area.
• Assist cook in preparing and serving foods for all diets.
• Set up trays, check diet cards, and deliver trays to floors.
• Bus tables and sanitize dining surfaces.
• Perform other tasks as needed.
