Job summary

Community Health Systems in Milton, FL is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care under the direct supervision of an RN or LPN. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe care environment, and effective communication within the healthcare team.

Responsibilities include basic patient care, vital sign collection, meals and mobility support, specimen collection, and strict adherence to infection control and PPE

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred
• BCLS within 90 days of hire required
• CNA certification preferred or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Collect and record patient data including vitals and intake/output; report to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, bathing, grooming, and mobility; assist with urinary catheter care.
• Assist with positioning, ambulation, and use of mobility aids such as walkers and wheelchairs.
• Perform glucose monitoring and collect urine/stool samples; document results.
• Communicate patient information effectively to the care team and adhere to safety protocols.
• Maintain infection control measures and proper PPE usage; participate in quality and safety initiatives.
