Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Float Pool Patient Care Technician to support a collaborative nursing team. You will assist RNs with vital signs, mobility, and personal care, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients.

Responsibilities include patient prep, transfers, non-medicated care, maintaining clean spaces, and ensuring infection control. CNA certification and BLS are required or obtained within 30 days of start date.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)
• High School Graduate / GED

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
