Job summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Patient Care Technician to support the nursing team with hands-on patient care, vital signs, and a safe, patient-centered environment.

You will assist with mobility, hygiene, and daily needs, while ensuring equipment readiness and clear communication with patients and families. Required CNA certification and BLS within 30 days; high school diploma or GED. On-site role at Portsmouth, NH.

Qualifications

• CNA certification is required or eligible.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery.
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes and skin protection.
• Keeping patient areas clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
