Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support Registered Nurses and deliver compassionate, hands-on care. You will assist with vital signs, mobility, transfers, and daily activities while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for patients.

You will help with dressing changes, skin protection, and use of assistive devices, while keeping areas clean, organized and stocked to ensure infection control and efficient care delivery.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• CNA certification in North Carolina is required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery.
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
