Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a patient care assistant to support doctors and nursing staff in meeting patient needs. The role involves daily tasks such as feeding, grooming, and monitoring vital signs, while coordinating closely with the care team.

The ideal candidate will have an HS diploma, current BLS certification, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with physicians, nurses, and patients in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification.
• Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing.
• Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights.
• Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities.
• Performs post mortem care.
• Performs EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring.
• Observes and reports changes in patients' condition to the RN.
• Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory.
• Other related duties as assigned.
