Job summary
Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in delivering direct patient care on the day shift. Under supervision, you will assist with admissions, discharges, and observe patients closely, reporting changes to the licensed nurse.
A HS diploma and clinical credentials are required or in-progress, with EMR and emergency services credentials valued.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma required or higher education pursuit in clinical field.
- Completion of Sentara Care Partner Certification Program or CNA/NCMA/NCPCT credentials.
- Current CNA certification or equivalent credentials preferred.
- US Navy Hospital Corps School or equivalent Emergency Services credentials accepted.
- EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic training desirable.
- Active student in a clinical program (RN/LPN/RT/PT) or recent PCT/Nursing Assistant experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Assist with admissions and discharge processes.
- Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
- Adhere to patient safety and care standards as directed by supervising nurse.
