Job summary

Northwestern Memorial is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support Registered Nurses in direct and indirect patient care within a hospital unit. You will be part of the unit staff, under RN supervision, and contribute to a safe, compassionate patient experience.

Responsibilities span admission/discharge support, vital signs, newborn care tasks, phlebotomy, and mobility assistance, all while following established procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or currently enrolled in School of Nursing.
• Ability to assist with direct and indirect patient care.
• Comfort with hospital procedures and patient safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge processes.
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, BP).
• Perform phlebotomy and newborn care tasks as assigned.
• Transport patients and equipment, respond to call lights.
• Maintain clean, safe environment and assist with routine care.
