CCMC Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV, is hiring a patient care technician to perform direct and indirect patient care under supervision of a registered nurse. You will support admissions, transfers, discharges and daily patient needs while ensuring safety and infection control.

The role requires a High School Diploma, BLS certification within 30 days, and CNA or WVU Patient Care Technician program completion. Shifts are day hours, 36 per week, non-exempt, in WV.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Acquire Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Must meet one of the following: Nationally certified patient care technician; Completion of WVUM Patient Care Technician program; or Current CNA certification in the service state.

Aufgaben

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs, assists in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures; records oral intake and outputs.
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment to prevent and/or control infections and to provide safety for patients, visitors and staff.
• Reports necessary equipment repairs to appropriate personnel per departmental procedure.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures per departmental procedure.
• Communicates with RN regarding nutrition issues and diet changes.
• Assists department with administrative tasks to support operations.
• Answers patient call bell and relays messages to appropriate personnel.
• Completes annual education related to specialty accreditation as defined by standards.
