CCMC Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV seeks a patient care technician to perform nonprofessional direct and indirect patient care activities under RN supervision. You will assist in admissions, vital signs, hygiene, and prepare patients for procedures.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, BLS within 30 days, and one credential from the listed options (CNA/state cert, WVUM program, or nationally certified PCT). Prior patient care experience is preferred.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Must meet one of the listed credentials: nationally certified patient care technician, WVUM Patient Care Technician program, or state CNA certification.

Responsabilidades

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs, assists in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures; records intake/output.
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
• Reports equipment repairs to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Communicates nutrition issues to RN and explains diet changes as needed.
• Performs department administrative tasks to support operations.
• Answers patient call bell and relays messages to appropriate personnel.
