Job summary

VCU Health System Authority is seeking a Patient Care Technician to deliver direct, age-appropriate patient care under the supervision of the RN in our Richmond, VA facility. You will monitor patient conditions, document vital signs, assist with daily living activities, and support the healthcare team to ensure safety and comfort.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; CNA is preferred. BLS/HCP certification is recommended.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• Licensure/Certification: ACLS or BLS HCP (if applicable) per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct patient care and age-appropriate nursing tasks.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the health care team.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal hygiene.
• Follow plans of care and facility policies for nursing care.
• Maintain clean, stocked, safe clinical areas and equipment.
• Record accurate patient information and vital signs as directed.
