Job summary

Crisp Regional Health Services is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate patient care under supervision of licensed nursing staff. The role supports nursing with direct patient care and operates various medical devices to monitor and assist patients.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a BLS certification (or its completion during orientation).

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within orientation period.
• No prior work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and communicate with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
• Provide direct support to nursing staff and follow directions to deliver quality patient care.
• Alert medical staff to changes in the patient’s condition.
• Operate medical equipment safely (BP monitors, cardiac monitors, glucometers, blanket warmers, and tele consult carts).
• Collect and transport patient specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Assist patients with basic care needs (feeding, positioning, hygiene, oral care).
• Obtain EKG readings and communicate findings to providers.
• Provide one-on-one safety monitoring for behavioral health patients.
• Participate in safety, infection control and performance improvement initiatives.
• Attend professional development and continuing education.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.
