Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) to assist with daily living activities and basic care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and patient comfort in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma, BLS certification, and able to perform essential nursing assistant tasks while adhering to hospital policies and procedures. Training will be provided according to department guidelines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Interpersonal skills needed to communicate with individuals and groups at all levels.
• Mandatory TB testing and OHSA training completed annually.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, safe and orderly unit.
• Under the nurse's direction, prioritizes and organizes care of assigned patients, performing basic CNA skills.
• Documents treatments and observations in the patient chart and reports to the team.
• Provides for the age-specific needs of the patient population per department standards.
