Job summary

MyMichigan Medical Group is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to work under RN supervision, assisting with daily living activities and certain treatments as per protocols. Travel among MyMichigan Health subsidiaries is required, with responsibilities spanning patient care, charting, and unit cleanliness.

The role requires completion of PCT/CNA/EMT/LPN certifications or equivalent Michigan credentials, BLS, and ongoing competency development.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
• Interpersonal skills needed to communicate with individuals and groups.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the nurse, prioritizes and organizes care of assigned patients, performing basic nurse’s aide skills.
• Documents on patient’s chart, any treatments and pertinent observations. Provides report to team on tasks completed.
• Maintains a clean, safe and orderly unit.
• Emergency care/safety: Performs according to procedure in all medical center emergency situations.
• Provides for the age specific needs of the population served according to department standards and policies/procedures.
• Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy at all times.
• All other duties as assigned.
