Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the treatment and care of patients, including hygiene, feeding, mobility and dressing. The role includes routine clinical tasks under RN direction and documentation of care activities.

Responsibilities include assisting in transferring patients and equipment, collecting data, and monitoring patient condition with professional oversight.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA certification or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
• Completion of the Patient Care Technician orientation.
• Demonstrates competency across growth and development stages from infant to geriatric.
• Effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive ownership for customer, team and organization goals.
• Adaptability to changing demands and environments.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and sound judgment for patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care activities including routine hygiene, mobility, feeding and dressing.
• Assists in transferring patients and patient care equipment to designated areas.
• Documents functional care and other quantitative values in nursing records.
• Collects and reports physiological data and monitors patient condition with RN guidance.
• Ensures safety considerations are integrated into care delivery.
