Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide patient care under RN/LPN supervision in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role involves assisting with daily patient activities, managing equipment, and communicating with care teams. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS, and either CNA licensure or nursing program enrollment with clinical rotations completed.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS required.
• Must meet one of the following requirements:
• One year of direct patient care experience,
• Successful completion of a nursing assistant training course
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license through State of Georgia, OR
• Current enrollment in a nursing program and completion of 2 clinical rotations.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN, including but not limited to: cleaning the patient's room, operating various clinical equipment, helping with emergencies, assisting with patient procedures, collecting and transporting patient specimens and completing applicable forms.
• Communicates with patients, families and members of the patient care team.
• Maintains hospital and unit-specific competencies.
• As part of a patient focused service, promotes a supportive and healing environment so that customer and staff satisfaction are enhanced.
• Assists in emergency situations as directed by an RN/LPN.
• Ensures that prescribed measures related to hygiene, comfort, and rest are provided.
• Complies with Standard Precautions guidelines, Infection Control procedures, and safety standards to maintain and promote a clean and healthy work environment.
• Assists in the use of various medical devices and equipment.
• Records patient intake and output.
• Assists RN/LPN in providing patient care according to individual needs.
