Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation in Memphis, TN seeks a Clinical Support role working under the direction of a registered nurse to deliver essential patient care and maintain patient autonomy, dignity and rights.

Your duties include taking vital signs, blood glucose testing, phlebotomy support, helping with mobility, transports, room setup and discharge assistance, while ensuring safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• 1 year recent experience in patient care within last 6 months.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA/AEMT/Paramedic licensure or MA certification; BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and collaborates with the professional registered nurse.
• Performs patient care tasks under the direction of the RN including vital signs, blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, electrode placement, venous compression devices.
• Performs basic patient care services under the direction of the RN including height & actual weights, intake & output, retrieval of equipment & supplies, stocks patient rooms.
• Maintains a conducive environment for the patient including clutter free rooms, removing linen/trash from rooms, quiet surroundings.
• Supports patient/family communication needs including answering call lights, orienting new patients to the room, assisting with discharge appointments.
• Promotes safety including assisting with patient mobility, safety rounds/4Ps.
• Promotes comfort including providing water, ice, cups, pillows, blankets, assistance with meals.
• Transports non-monitored patients.
• Assists RN with monitored and/or intubated transports.
• Performs other duties as assigned
