Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation in Jonesboro, AR seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support RN-led patient care and maintain a safe, comfortable environment. You will perform vital signs, basic care tasks, and assist with mobility and discharge planning.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, appropriate certification, and BLS; 1 year of recent experience preferred. The role requires teamwork, compassion, and reliability in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• CNA certification or AEMT/Paramedic license or MA certification.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and collaborates with the professional registered nurse.
• Performs patient care tasks under the RN including vital signs, blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, electrode placement, venous compression devices.
• Performs basic patient care services under the direction of the RN including height & actual weights, intake & output, retrieval of equipment & supplies, stocks patient rooms.
• Maintains a conducive environment for the patient including clutter free rooms, removing linen/trash from rooms, quiet surroundings.
• Supports patient/family communication needs including answering call lights, orienting new patients to the room, assisting with discharge appointments.
• Promotes safety including assisting with patient mobility, safety rounds/4Ps.
• Promotes comfort including providing water, ice, cups, pillows, blankets, assistance with meals.
• Transports non-monitored patients.
• Assists RN with monitored and/or intubated transports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
