Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the 10 East Older Adult/Stroke Unit. Under RN supervision, the PCT supports direct patient care, assists with ADLs, and helps maintain a safe, clean environment.

Shifts available: 6:30 am–3:00 pm, 2:30 pm–11:00 pm, 10:30 pm–7:00 am. Requires a HS diploma or GED and at least 1 year of direct care experience or related program; nursing students completing BSN fundamentals may qualify. Trinity Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of direct care experience or completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course.
• Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success.
• The PCT assists patient in completing ADLs including bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection.
• A PCT collects and sends specimens including blood and blood cultures and inserts and removes peripheral IV catheters; responsible for recording patient information and data for documentation.
• Medical progressive care unit specializing in care of renal, stroke, seizure with continuous EEG monitoring.
• This unit currently houses our COVID-19 population.
