Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide direct, age-appropriate care under the supervision of an RN. You will monitor patients, assist with hygiene and mobility, and help maintain a safe, clean unit to support patient comfort and outcomes.

You will collect data such as vital signs and intake/output, assist with feeding, and participate in safety initiatives while adhering to PPE and infection control guidelines in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is required or completion of clinical nursing course with rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct age-appropriate patient care under RN supervision.
• Monitor patient conditions and report updates to the health care team.
• Maintain a clean, stocked environment and assist with daily living activities.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, and other patient information per policy.
• Attend mandatory in-services and adhere to infection control procedures.
• Collaborate with co-workers to ensure safe, compassionate care.
