Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission and discharge processes.
• Establish good relationships with families, visitors and staff.
• Report vital information to the healthcare team as needed.
• Communicate with patients and visitors.
• Maintain communication with co-workers for team functioning.
• Notify the health care team of significant patient changes.
• Provide direct patient care as assigned.
• Record patient vital signs using proper equipment.
• Inform RN and team of observed changes in condition.
• Communicate written and verbal information.
• Respond to patient requests and call lights.
• Ensure a safe, comfortable environment per hospital standards.
• Act as a team member in emergencies.
• Assist with restrained patients per policy.
• Perform decubitus care and activities of daily living as appropriate.
• Use proper body mechanics when moving patients.
• Perform delegated patient care procedures.
• Obtain and label specimens and perform certain diagnostic tests.
