Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Patient Care Associate to assist patients with daily living activities and provide basic nursing support under nurse supervision. You will help maintain a safe, clean environment and support efficient patient care in a busy unit.

Responsibilities include assisting in implementing care plans, communicating patient status, and promoting positive relations with patients and families. Requires NYS CNA cert and ability to lift and move patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• NYS Certified Nursing Attendant program completion required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
• Basic mathematics competency and ability to operate medical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a key member of the nursing care team implementing the patient's plan of care.
• Promotes improved relations with patients and families; supports safe, cost-effective care.
• Assists with all ADL needs and documents patient status.
• Performs various procedures, exams, tests, and clerical duties as required by the unit.
• Maintains clean, stocked units and prepares rooms for new admissions.
• Transports patients and handles post-mortem care as directed.
• Follows isolation, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Participates in education programs and staff meetings; accesses medication areas as authorized.
