Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) in Joplin, MO. Under the direction of an RN or LPN, you will assist in individualized patient care and support the care team to help patients achieve their highest wellness.

No prior experience is required; Mercy provides a 175-hour training program during new-hire orientation and supports certification goals. A broad benefits package accompanies the role, including health coverage and tuition support.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrolled in a healthcare career program; age 18 and able to participate in Mercy's UAP training, or current Mercy co-worker.
• BLS certification within 1 month of hire.
• PCA competencies completed within 3 months of hire.
• No prior experience required.
• Must meet minimum physical requirements.
• Must be able to push, pull, lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking required.
• Ability to bend, kneel, twist and squat to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to patient care.
• Work cooperatively with others as part of a team and align with group goals.
