Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the licensed clinical team in direct and indirect patient care while prioritizing safety and patient comfort. You will collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care partners to deliver compassionate care and participate in telehealth-related activities as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, knowledge of medical terminology, and BLS.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED required.
Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
Ability to perform delegated tasks within scope.
Knowledge of how to convey respect and collaborate with each patient, family and/or designated care partner.
BLS certification required; AHA upon hire.

Responsibilities

Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under direction of licensed clinical team members.
Actively promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment available to ensure efficient unit operations.
Conducts patient rounds as assigned, responds to patient call lights promptly.
May be assigned the role of a virtual safety associate as needed.
May facilitate a clinical exam with distant providers using telehealth technology.
