Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months recent experience in direct patient care.
• Ability to follow direction and provide accurate reports.
• Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies.
• Basic computer skills.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support within 30 Days

Responsibilities

• Provides care to designated patients using a patient/family-centered approach and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Employs astute observational skills and properly communicates findings to the RN.
• Uses effective verbal and non-verbal communication with patients, relatives, visitors, staff and colleagues.
• Functions as a department team member to support unit-based patient experience goals and hospital goals.
• Demonstrates team-building by participating in orientation of new staff, as assigned.
• Performs validated technical skills based on clinical specialty and unit practice.
• Utilizes technology to optimize alternative modes of care delivery.
• Completes quality control checks on designated unit equipment, if applicable.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates patient needs, and responds to call lights promptly.
