Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks a Patient Care Assistant to support daily patient care activities, including vital signs, feeding, and clinical tasks under licensed supervision. You will document in the EHR, assist with admissions/discharges, and maintain orderly patient rooms.

Strong customer service and medical terminology knowledge are important. Responsibilities include 1:1 patient observation, phlebotomy support, and effective communication with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong patient/customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care-related duties and clinical functions as assigned, including vitals, EKGs, bathing, ambulation, 1:1 observation, and phlebotomy.
• Document intake/output, vital signs, and glucose results in the EHR.
• Assist with meals, feeding, and tray setup as needed.
• Keep patient rooms stocked, clean, and equipped; report malfunctions.
• Assist with admitting and discharging patients.
• Assist in orienting new PCA team members.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and care team members.
• Foster a positive team environment and professional growth.
