Job summary

DCH Health System is seeking a Patient Care Attendant/Safety Companion to provide compassionate personal care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role supports patients’ physical and emotional comfort and healing in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include measuring vitals, ambulating patients, assisting with daily activities, and preparing equipment for treatments. Candidates should have a high school diploma, be English proficient, and be able to work 12-hour shifts onsite.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must read, write, speak and comprehend English.
• BLS Healthcare Provider required within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care per the plan of treatment.
• Measure and record intake and output, vitals, and weights.
• Position, transfer, ambulate, and assist with activities of daily living.
• Set up oxygen equipment and monitor patients as directed.
• Collect, label, and transport lab specimens; document care per policy.
