Job summary

USA Health in Mobile, AL is seeking a patient care assistant to support nursing staff in delivering compassionate care. You will assist patients with activities of daily living, take vital signs, and help maintain clean, stocked rooms and equipment.

Under supervision of RN/LPN, you will document, monitor patient status, respond to call lights, and participate in orientation and infection control and safety standards. Regular attendance and ability to work defined schedule are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receives verbal/written assignments from RN/LPN.
• Assists patients with activities of Daily Living.
• Reports any changes in patient condition to RN/LPN.
• Maintains clean and neat stocked areas and patient rooms.
• Cleans equipment between each patient use.
• Operates unit equipment as required.
• Position requires constant standing and walking, with lifting and pushing as needed.
• Takes and records vital signs and weight.
