Job summary

USA Health is seeking a dedicated patient care assistant to support nursing teams across Mobile facilities. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and help ensure accurate documentation and clean patient environments.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent and BCLS certification. Eligible employees must work 20 hours or more per week to qualify for benefits, with opportunities to learn and grow within a clinical care setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; substitution allowed year-for-year for the required education.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receives assignments from RN/LPN and assists patients with daily living activities.
• Reports changes in patient condition to RN/LPN.
• Keeps patient rooms and stocked areas clean and neat; cleans equipment between patients.
• Operates unit equipment as required and runs unit errands as needed.
• Assists with admission, discharge and transfer of patients; responds to patient call lights.
• Records vital signs and weight; monitors 24-hour urine collections and related tasks.
• Documents intake/output (NG, chest tube, ostomy bags, foley, etc.) and signs initials.
• Maintains electronic and paper medical records and adheres to infection control standards.

Education
