Job summary

Visiting Angels Amarillo is seeking a compassionate Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to provide exceptional care across settings including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. You will assist with ADLs, monitor health, plan meals, and maintain a safe environment while supporting individuals with diverse needs.

The role emphasizes teamwork, dementia and memory care experience, HIPAA compliance, and a patient-centered approach to enhance quality of life in the Panhandle area.

Qualifications

• Experience with Home health or hospice is preferred.
• Familiarity with patient monitoring and vital sign assessment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Monitor vital signs and observe changes in health or behavior.
• Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary restrictions.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
• Document care provided and communicate with healthcare professionals regarding client status.
