Job summary

Care New England seeks a Nursing Assistant to perform nursing procedures and patient care tasks under the supervision of a professional staff nurse. Duties include assisting with personal care, reporting changes, and ensuring patient comfort and privacy.

The role requires a high school diploma, completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Training program, and a current Rhode Island CNA license with CPR certification. Must be at least 18 and fluent in English.

Qualifications

• High school graduate and completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Training program.
• Current Rhode Island CNA license and CPR certification.
• Must be at least 18 years old and proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations.
• Provides personal care assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, and feeding, and provides written reports for the patient's medical record on care provided.
• Prepares and checks equipment/supplies and utilizes resources and materials in a safe and efficient manner.
• Observes and communicates changes in the patient's condition to the staff nurse and/or nursing supervisor.
• Communicates and collaborates with other members of the health care team.
• Supports unit-based Quality Assurance activities and maintains hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
• Demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy and responds appropriately to verbal and non-verbal behavior of patients, family, visitors, and hospital personnel.
• Participates in educational programs and in-services meetings.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit care data.
