Job summary

Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) Whitesburg location is seeking a Nurse Aide to provide compassionate patient care under licensed nursing supervision. The role involves daily living activities, basic medical care, and adherence to safety and infection control standards.

The candidate will perform patient care tasks, monitor patient conditions, and support admissions, discharges, and routine procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Nurse Aide Training Program is required.
• At least 3 months of on-the-job training is required.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Additional state competency requirements for SNF assignments may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, shaving, and assisting with meals.
• Answer signal lights promptly to determine and meet patient needs.
• Collect specimens, record intake/output, and monitor vital signs.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living.
• Care for catheters, dressings, and related tubing per instructions.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized patient care environment.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients.
