Job summary

University of Utah Health is seeking a patient-focused Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will interact with patients and families, support mobility, hygiene, and daily activities, and assist with unit operations in a 24/7 health system.

This role requires a Nursing Assistant certification; RN license is required for candidates pursuing RN progression.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Assistant certification
• If an RN is in process, must obtain RN license within three months or CNA certification.
• Experience in a busy healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with feeding, mobility, hygiene and daily activities.
• Documents data related to direct patient care and communicates with team.
• Maintains a clean, safe patient care environment and supports unit operations.
• Schedules and coordinates patient appointments and ancillary tasks as needed.
• Observes patient conditions and notifies nursing staff of changes in status.
• Participates in unit workflow and clerical duties as required.
