Job summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the patient care team under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will provide basic direct and indirect care, document vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and help maintain a clean, safe patient environment.

The NA communicates changes in patient status, adheres to hospital policies, and supports age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care while interacting with patients, families, staff and the community.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic accurately.
• Demonstrates patience, courtesy and respectful interactions with patients and families.
• Clear, effective communication with staff, patients and families in person and written form.
• Active listening skills and responsiveness to patient needs.
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a busy hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Observe, record and report patient information accurately.
• Adhere to nursing care standards and hospital policies.
• Assess and document vital signs as instructed by RN.
• Assist with activities of daily living and daily routine of patients.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and assist with safety procedures.
• Communicate patient status changes to RN or resource nurse and participate in learning activities.
