Job summary

Methodist Hospitals is seeking a nursing assistant to provide direct patient care under supervision. You will assist with bathing, feeding, mobility, and daily activities while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

The role also involves recording vital signs, observing changes, and documenting care in the medical record per policies. High school diploma required; CPR and Nurse Assistant preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to clearly communicate patient's status to Licensed Nursing Staff.
• Ability to verbally communicate with patients, families, the public and other staff of the department.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, feeding, transferring, ambulating, and bed making.
• Cleans and maintains equipment, patient rooms, and other areas as assigned.
• Measures and records vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, glucometer, oxygen saturation, weight, intake/output, and food consumption.
• Reports on patient status changes or requests to licensed nursing staff as observed during rounds and answering call lights.
• Documents patient care information per policies and procedures in the medical record.
