Qualifications

• Uses common sense and basic medical skills to care for patients.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with ADLs (bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, toileting, mobility).
• Measures and records vital signs, weight, intake, and output.
• Observes and reports changes to RN or charge nurse.
• Assists with ambulation, repositioning, and transfers with safe techniques.
• Ensures patient safety via hourly rounding and bed alarm monitoring.
• Responds promptly to call lights and patient requests.
• Performs blood glucose monitoring and other procedures as trained.
• Maintains clean, organized patient areas and properly sanitizes equipment.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient transport.
• Collects and labels laboratory specimens per policy.
• Assists nurses during procedures as needed.
• Documents activities in the EHR and maintains confidentiality.
