Job summary

Avera McKennan is seeking an Admissions Specialist to register patients, verify insurance, and handle patient financial interactions. You will ensure accurate accounts and MRN creation while communicating payor requirements and patient responsibilities.

The role supports a multidisciplinary team in a hospital setting, requiring strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work rotating shifts across days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work rotating shifts as required.
• Healthcare experience preferred (1-3 years).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• High School diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and timely, creating accounts and MRNs.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect co-pays/deductibles.
• Coordinate communications with patients, staff, providers and third-party payers.
• Assist with bed assignments and registration follow-ups as needed.
